BioCurex Inc. (OTCBB:BOCX) announced that the Congress Scientific Committee has recognized its presentation to the ISOBM annual meeting. BioCurex will present results obtained with its ELISA RECAF blood test for cancer at the 2008 assemblage of the International Society of Oncology and Bio-Markers (ISOBM).
The conference volition be held from October 5th to October ninth, in Tokyo, Japan and will land together scientists, clinicians and companies involved in the field of cancer markers.
Dr. Moro stated: "This year's conference is entitled, 'Development of new molecular tumor markers for diagnosing and therapy'. The subject is well chosen and critical for good reason: it reflects the penetrative need, among the scientific community as well as clinicians, for new malignant neoplastic disease markers to be secondhand in genus Cancer diagnosis and therapy. This need arises from the fact that there ar presently very few markers, their boilersuit performance is not very good and they are limited to a few types of cancer. It also reflects on the fact that since AFP and CEA were first described as cancer markers in the early 60's, not many markers get been ascertained. BioCurex has a unique cancer marker in the sense that it combines excellent performance in discriminating patients with cancer from those wHO do non have crab, along with the ability to discover very early stages of two of the most common cancers - breast and prostate gland. RECAF, our marker, too has the potential to be used on a broad spectrum of cancers, which is a fantastic advantage.
At ISOBM 2008 we'll be showing results related to the ELISA format - a type of test that nates be carried out in most research and clinical labs. We expect to elicit substantial interest among scientists to carry out collaborations that will continue to formalise, independently and through legion publications, the very adept performance of the RECAF tests."

About BioCurex
BioCurex, Inc. is a biotechnology company that is developing products based on patented/proprietary technology in the areas of cancer diagnosis, imaging and therapy. The technology identifies a crab marker known as RECAFTM, which is found on malignant cells from a variety of cancer types but is absent in most normal or benign cells.
BioCurex has signed licensing agreements for its cancer detection blood tests with Abbott Laboratories and with Inverness Medical Innovations (for farther information on these agreements see hither.)
The malignant neoplastic disease marker RECAFTM has emerged as a potential biomarker that crataegus laevigata be useful in the development of new cancer diagnostics tests. Preliminary studies from the investigators at BioCurex have reported a high level of clinical sensitivity and specificity for RECAF in many of the near common cancers, including prostate, breast, colorectal, lung and others.
